Weekend in Pico de Loro

Last week I had the chance to stay in Pico de Loro Cove for a night. Since December of 2011, Anika, the PR Manager of Hamilo Coast has been inviting me to visit the property. But since I am out of town the whole Januarry, I had to delay my visit to the place.

Pico de Loro cove is a 37.5-hectare coastal community in Hamilo Coast. Eight mid-rise, low-impact condominium buildings along with exclusive Beach and Country Club and Pico Sands hotel comprise the first phase of Pico de Loro Cove. These coastal condo homes and exclusive club facilities offer an active and dynamic leisure lifestyl, and have redefined the concept of weekend getaways with convenience, immediacy, and privacy.

There were only seven of us who were there during the trip to Pico de Loro. What even made the weekend getaway even more meaningful was that the coolest peeps from Hamilo Coast invited Tilak Hettige to conduct a photography workshop for us. Our workshop was held at one of the function rooms at the Beach Club. Coolness! And the snacks served, white chocolate cookies, is just so heavenly! Sarap!

After the workshop we would just either lounge at the Beach Club or stroll at the Country Club.

When we were at Pico de Loro it was just so hot, and I am so tempted to take a dip on its cool waters, but I have to say no. I don’t want to get sunburned.

I love the Beach Club. It has complete facilities for the beach lovers. Cold towels are provided to guests upon entrance, The beach is very clean and the sand is fine. There are huts lined up along the beach. There’s also a swimming pool for adults and the kids alike. A restaurant is also available for yummy treats. The facilities at the Beach Club are:

-Sun Coral Cafe, the signature F&B facility of the Beach Club
- Brisa Bar, al fresco dining and entertainment venue
- Arribada Lounge- an indoor venue with balconies for functions. (this is where we had our workshop)

We got to visit the Country Club. This is where the sports facilities and game equipment are located. There are several courts for badminton, squash, volleyball, and tennis. There’s also the Billiard and Bowling hall. Yup, the country club has a six-lane bowling room! There’s also a KTV. as well as playground for the kids. And just like in the Beach Club, there’s also a pool here. There’s also the Baia Ballroom which is an indoor venue for functions and gatherings, which can be sudbivided for smaller function or conference rooms.

And where we stayed, the Pico Sands Hotel. It’s a very lovely hotel facility intended for the club member’s guests. It currently operates as a members-only facility. The 154-room hotel presents a captivating views of the serene lagoon or the lush mountains of Pico de Loro.

All rooms come with standard amenities like flat TV, telephone, individually controlled A/C, hot and cold shower, WiFi Internet Access.

The Pico Restaurant is also open 24/7 to satisfy one’s cravings anytime of the day. In fact, Mica and I ordered Spaghetti Bolognese and one pizza for our midnight snacks. I love the pizza!

There’s also the Rain Spa for those who long for relaxation. The spa offers a list of treatments fusing traditional and progressive therapeutic practices for health and well-being.

All these and more are located at the Hamilo Coast. Hamilo Coast is the premier coastal development of SM Land in Nasugbu Batangas. Te are is composed of thirteen coves and kilometers of the finest coastlines in Nasugbu. It is accessbile by land travel throguh the traditional Tagaytay route (via SLEX, Santa Rosa exit) going beyond to Nasugbu Batangas. Travel time is approximately 3 hours.
