Dinner at C Bistro General Santos City
Posted by on July 31, 2012
A few weeks ago I was in General Santos City as part of my week-long Mindanao adventure. C Bistro was one of the restaurants I got to visit and sample their yummy treats.

The Best Ribs in Town!
C Bistro is one of the newest restaurants in General Santos City and so far, getting good reviews from its loyal patrons. The restaurant only opened around two months ago in Tiongson Arcade, Tiongson Street Brgy Lagao General Santos City.
In a little less than two months, word spread around GenSan about the good foods that they are offering. Restaurant owner Che Tiongson said that they did not placed ads on TV, Radio or newspaper. It’s the magic of the word of mouth that made the people aware of how good their foods are.

And that’s our mission that night when we invaded C Bistro, to check the food ourselves and see if their really truth to all the words spreading in GenSan.
Various foods were served in front of us: Baby Back Ribs, Grilled Tuna, Kinilaw na Malasugue, Spaghetti in Pesto with smoked pink salmon, kani salad and pork barbecue.
The baby back ribs is really good. the meat is very tender and is oozing with all the flavors. It’s so good, in fact, there’s no need for you to add the back ribs sauce. The Grilled tuna is really food too. A trip to GenSan would never be complete without having tuna on your meal.
Kinilaw na malasugue is just right. not too sour for my taste. It’s great to counter greasy/creamy feel you get after eating the back ribs, pasta and the kani salad. Pantanggal umay…

The spaghetti pesto siactually not yet on the menu, but will be out soon. It was served to us for our feedback. I love the spaghetti! it’s 5 stars for me!
I am not really a big fan of pesto, but i tell you, I finished the entire plate of spaghetti with pesto and pink salmon. the mild flavors of basil is complemented by the strong salty flavors of the smoked salmon.
When asked about their bestsellers, Che tiongson said that in about two months of operations, Their Baby Back ribs, Grilled Tuna and Kare Kare are among the top sellers. she added that C Bistro is a restaurant that offers mixed Asian menu. So you get Some Filipino, some of Japanese, or Chinese, and a few of European or American dishes on their menu. She said most of the recipes on their menu are actually family recipes. And because of their location, she said that all of their seafoods are sourced within General Santos City only.
One of the things I love about C Bistro is that it is a little bit small. perfect for an intimate dinner. The only disadvantage though is that because of its popularity today, most of the time, it’s always full even up to the al fresco area. The resto can seat 30 guests inside and 20 at the al fresco area.
Currently C Bistro is open from 430PM until 11PM or could even extend until midnight during weekends, but they are planning to open for lunch soon once the plans are ironed out already.

So if you happen to be in General Santos, please do drop by C Bistro and experience the Best Back Ribs in town! Many many thanks to Chec tiongson for hosting our dinner with Marzz and Avel Manansala!
