Last September I was given a complimentary unit of Nikon 1 J1 by Columbia Digital, the exclusive distributor of Nikon Cameras in the Philippines.
I am so excited! Nikon 1 J1 is a mirroless camera. It has the features and functions of a typica DSLR Camera but with a size of a digicam. Neat!
This is what I need! Traveling with a DSLR camera is cumbersome. It’s heavy. Whie digicams are small, and pocket sized, most of the time it cannot achieve the effects or the shots you wanted to take because it lacks manual settings.
The camera has no viewfinder, but has a relatively large LCD screen dispay. It also has a built in fash that pops out when clicked.
and with a 1080px HD video, you get to capture events at full colors and with very crisp sound.
Since I got hold of this camera, I never stopped using it. I love Nikon 1 J1. In fact I have already brought my camera during my travels to Davao, Davao Oriental, Gensan, Maguindanao, Cotabato City, Cebu, and Bacolod.
I have already tested the camera in three festivas: Pasigarbo sa Sugbo, Kadayawan sa Davao, and MassKara Festival. So Far so good. Nikon 1 J1 has not failed my expectations. I also got to test it during night time. And I just love the night shots! What I also love about Nikon is its vivid colors. I have been a long time Nikon user. I used to own Nikon D40 with 18-135mm and the images are jut bursting with colors. It’s full of life!
you have full control of the settings, just like in a typical DSLR, you can go automatic with the P mode, or use the Apperture or shutter speed priority settings. If you really want to go maual, there’s also a setting for that, with shutter speed reaching up to “Bulb” mode.
What’s even good with the Nikon 1 Camera is that its lenses are interchangeable. They also have a pancake lens! Yey!

I am not a techie person so I won’t deal with the technical aspects of the camera here. Instead, I will just let the sample shots speak for itself. All photos posted here has not undergone any enhancements. the only thing these photos have ndergone is resize and watermark.
