A few hours to go and we will bid goodbye to 2012. The year has been very exciting for me. Got so many blessings and more opportunities to travel and explore the beauty of the Philippines. I had ups and downs. But what is important is that we got to stand up once again.
Today we look back at some of the most memorable trips I have done in 2012. I actually started this series in Facebook, but will now compile everything here. So here it is…
SE7EN: A Series of Images that has Defined our year 2012. In no particular order:
For four days we traveled to the Province of Ifugao to be a weekend warrior, in helping restore the famed rice terraces of Batad. It was a 2 hour trek. But the view of the rice terraces is so majestic. No word can ever describe its grandeur. And we were there to help save it. And I am so proud to have done it!
they say that the best trips are the unplanned ones. Basilan was never part of the travel plan for 2012. But an opportunity to visit the southernmost part of the country came and i never regret going there! A day before I flew to Bongao, I lost camera, so with only a Blackberry phone in my hand, I was still able to snap some photos. I hope I can go back here again soon!
3. Oslob, Cebu
For six days Philippine Travel Tour Operators association (PHILTOA) sent us traveling across the Central Visayas region, rediscovering the traditional sights and at the same time getting acquainted with the new ones, from Bohol Negros Oriental, Siquijor and Cebu. Among my favorite segments in the tour was the trip to Oslob where we got to interact with the gentle giants of the sea known as the whale sharks or Tuki in Cebuano.
4. Masjid Sultan Haji Hassanal bolkiah, Cotabato City
This is one of the trip that I have been looking forward to accomplish. I have long been dreaming of going to the Cotabato City Grand Mosque and be amazed at its beauty. It was an overnight trip but what made it even more fun is that, my trip to Cotabato coincided with Mervin‘s travel, and Bernie‘s last minute decision to join us.
This is another unplanned trip. And just like the line from the Savage Garden’s Animal song, for 3d/2 I got to live like an animal, careless and Free. I got to run with the wind in my hair and the the sand at my feet. I got to enjoy the beauty of the white sand beach in Sogod Cebu in this word-class 5-star Triple A resort!
Its a food trip of the year! For four days, we got to roam around Santa Barbara and Iloilo city exploring every nook and cranny in search for the province’s most delectable dishes and desserts.
7. Tangub City’s Chritmas Symbols Festival
another unexpected trip. Tangub City will never be called the Christmas Capital of Mindanao for Nothing. they sure know how to Celebrate the Chritmas season with a bang! this year they celebrate the 20th edition of the Christmas symbols Festival and I am so honored to have been invited to judge the large Christmas decors fullof locally available materials!
So here, the seven memorable trips that I have done for the year 2012. With the coming 2013, I just hope that I will be able to continue to explore more of the Philippines.
and just before the year ends, I would like to take this oppurtunity to thank our AirPhil Express for allowing me to fly and explore the 7,100 emerald Isles, and to columbia Digital, the exclusive Distributor of Nikon in the Philippines for giving us the chance to capture the most colorful moments during our travels.
And to all the people we have met along the way. thank you so much! God Bles you all and Happy New year! Cheers!
