Paru Parong Bukid is a Filipino Term for Mountain butterfly. As the name implies Paru Parong Bukid is a Butterfly Garden slash nature park and more. It is a wellness facility too!
Mervin and I arrived at the DZ Romualdez airport at around 10 AM via AirPhil Express. Our close friend Ludette Ruiz of Leyte Gulf Travel and Tours picked us up at the airport. From there we then drove towards the town of Babatngon, Leyte where Paru Parong Bukid Wellness Center is located.
I have been to Leyte several times, but it was actually my first time to hear of such facility in the province of Leyte.
We arrived at the conservation center at almost 11AM. We had green smoothie as welcome drink. it is made of blended veggies and fruits. yummy and healthy!
After the welcome drinks we did some kayaking towards the nearby island to get some fresh coconut juice. Itdrizzled a bit so we had to delay our kayaking back to the resort.
It was already past 1PM when we returned to the wellness center. Lunch was then served to us. Our menu consists of raw veggies which is the usual diet of the guests undergoing detox program here.
Eating raw foods (except for kinilaw and sashimi) sounds foreign to me. But surprisingly, the dishes served to us were really delicious. We had radish salad, raw veggies sushi, raw corn mixed with carrots and our rice? It’s colored with the Blue Ternate Flower. Its a one of a kind lunch! Busog! but you don’t get that bloated feeling afterwards.
After the heavy feast, I got to roam around the butterfly garden. Got to snap some photos of the cute fluttering creatures.
Moments later we then moved to the spa area. Mervin had an hour of relaxing body massage, while I opted to get a body scrub. It feels so good! They actually create their own recipe for their body scrub. Feeling relaxed and refreshed, we then had a short meditation session. We only had a thirty minute of meditation. since we had to rush back to tacloban City.
It as past 7PM when we left the Paru Parong Bukid Nature Conservation Center. Time flies so fast! We have already spent one whole day of pure bliss and relaxation at the wellness center!
At last for a day, I feel light, healthy, refreshed and relaxed! What a perfect way to start my adventure in Leyte!
Many many thanks to Helly of Paru Parong Bukid Nature conservation Center for letting us come and experience Paru Parong bukid wellness center, and to Ludette Ruiz of Leyte Gulf Travel and Tours for giving us a heads up that a wellness center exists in the ton of Babatngon Leyte!
