MNL Boutique Hostel
Posted by on March 7, 2013
A few weeks back I got an invitation to stay at MNL Boutique Hostel, one of the newer, and shall I say, cooler places to stay when in Metro Manila.
the hostel’s name is quite explanatory. It’s the airport code of Manila., the gateway to the country’s numerous holiday spots and white sand paradise.

The hostel is quite new. It only opened late last year, and armed only with the social media and the power of the word of mouth, MNL boutique Hostel is enjoying quite a good occupancy rate. Most of its guests are foreign backpackers. Many of them are staying here while exploring the Mega Manila area, or simply staying for a night beforethey head to other destinations like Palawan, Boracay or Cebu. Destinations that are a major hit among the foreign travelers.
what I like about the MNL Hostel it’s colorful and vibrant looking common room. It is here where the guests stay all day (and night) getting to know each other sharing exciting stories, and uncommon experiences.

My Room. I love the blinds made of bamboo sticks
This is one of the best charms of a hostel. Unlike in a traditional hotels, guests would normally lock up inside a room after a day’s travel. But in a hostel, guests are excited to share their tales in the common room.
During my stay there I had met a few guests coming from Spain, UK, US and the Netherlands. I also got to mee tan Maerican guy whose mom was actually from Iloilo. Ah… a fellow Ilonggo! What a surprise, isn’t it? We got an interesting talk about SmallVille, Batchoy, the nearby Island of Guimaras, among others.

Cutesy little sign on the door
The rooms are good too. Very clean. The bathrooms and toilets are very well maintained. Each room has 8-inch spring matress
Hotel grade linen and pillows, Duvet for all private rooms, Personal console per bed (lamp, book & gadget ledge, socket) as well as lockers.
the hostel also has the following amenities which you would surely love: complimentary Wifi, FREE Continental Breakfast (Toast, Jam, Tea, Coffee)?, FREE Towel, Heated Power Rain Showers, ?Luxe Shared Bathrooms, All Airconditioned rooms, 24/7 Security – Key Card Access
No Curfew, ?Common Room with HD TV, Surround Sound & Book Exchange, Luggage Storage, Self Catering Kitchen, Your COOL-Cierge and Tour Desk
Another thing I love about this place is its location. This boutique hostel is located along Valdez, corner Santiago Streets in Makati city. It is located right behind A. Venue and Barrio fiesta restaurant. And with wall that artistically designed, you would never get lost. It is just a walking distance going to JP Rizal or Makati Avenue, or Buendia Avenue. A short 3-5 minute jeepney ride going to Greenbelt or Glorietta or Landmark, or to the Ayala Museum.
This coming Saturday March 9th, they will have their Grand Launching House Warming with a modern Pinoy Fiesta theme! Isn’t this exciting. I’m pretty sure the guests would definitely love this!
Like their Facebook Page, or visit their website for more details. Go and try to experience yourself the brand of Filipino hospitality they offer to their guests. It’ a must experience when in Makati!
I was not able to shoot lots of photos during my stay because I was quite mindful of the privacy of the other guests. They might think I’m an intruder or something
. Anyways, Check out the hostel’s photo gallery here. they got a an interesting collection of photos taken there!
Many thanks to Miss Maica for extending the invitation to stay at the MNL Boutique Hostel. Maraming Salamat Po!
