It’s six months to go. You still have more than enough time to plan, book plane tickets and make hotel reservations.

Every month of October, the City of Bacolod celebrates its biggest fiesta celebration: the famed MassKara Festival.

It is during this time of the year when Bacolenos, go out in the city streets wearing the most elaborate costumes and intricate smiling masks and dance along the stretch of the city’s main thoroughfare.

The festival is always held on the weekend nearest October 19th, the city’s charter day anniversary.

I am just so lucky to have been born in Western Visayas. The region is blessed with te World’s best Beach, Boracay. It is also home to one of the world’s seetest variety of mango, found only in Guimaras. And ince time immemorial we have been enjoying some of the best delicacies the Philippines has to offer like the famous Batchoy of LaPaz, the Pancit Molo of Iloilo’s Molo District, and the widest array of sweets from the Sugar Capital of the Philippines, Negros Occidental. And yes, we celebrate the goodness of live in full color.
