Explore Davao, the Marco Polo Way…

Since time immemorial Davao has been actively promoting its destinations with the tagline “From Highlands to Islands”. I think it was way back 2005/6 when I first learned of this tagline during the Wow Philippines days in Intramuros.

And just a few weeks ago, I was lucky enough to have been invited by Marco Polo Davao to explore Davao, from Highlands to Islands, the Marco Polo Way.

World Costume Festival 2013 Grand Parade

The last time the Philippines hosted the World Costume Festival was in 2001 in Davao. It took twelve long years before the event is staged again in the country. But this time the World Costume Festival 2013 was hosted in the Heritage City of Vigan in Ilocos Sur.

I was so thrilled to participate in this year’s gathering of the world’s costume designers and scenographers. And Vigan is definitely the best place to become the backdrop of all the activities lined up.

So off I flew to Laoag City via SEAIR Tiger Airways. From Laoag, which is the Gateway to Ilocandia, we were then shuttled to Vigan. We stayed at Casa Rica along Calle Quirino corner Calle Abaya, one of the newer accommodations here in Vigan.

SEAIR Tiger Airways now flies to Laoag!

Last week I was invited to join the inaugural flight of Southeast Asian Airlines (SEAIR) to the Sunshine City of Laoag. I am very thrilled since this is going to be my first flight with SEAIR Tiger Airways after we officially agreed on our partnership.
