The provincial capitol in San Fernando is the seat of the Provincial Government of Pampanga. Its Governor, Among Ed holds office here.

The original capitol of Pampanga is located in Bacolor, but was moved to its present site in 1904.

Pampanga has always been known for its delectable cuisine, and its capital San Fernando it known as the Christmas Capital of the Philippines. But every month of February, Pampanga gets busy for another tourism event: the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta. Every love month, scores of colorful hot air balloons from all over the globe would come to clark Field Pampanga Philippines to the delight of the crowd. Pampanga Provincial Capitol

The San Fernando Cathedral is the seat of the Archdiocese of San Fernando. The original structure was built in 1755 by the Augustinians and the administration was later transferred to the secular priests in 1788.

In 1948 the Church of San Fernando Pampanga was elevated to the status of Cathedral, after it became the seat of the Diocese of San Fernando. In 1975, the diocese was then elevated to the status of Archdiocese of San Fernando under the papacy of Pope Paul VI.

From San Fernando Cathedral, it is just approximately 30minutes via public transport going to the former US Airbase Clark Field in Pampanga. Visitng the San Fernando Cathedral is a good side trip during the 15th Philippine International Hot Air Balloon fiesta in Clark Field. The four-day festival will feature scores of hot air balloons from all over the globe, sky diving, remote controlled airplane exhibitions and a whole lot more.

Bacolaodiat is a combination of two words Bacolod, and LaoDiat, a Fookien term meaning happy

During the Bacolaodiat, various activities ar lined up like street dances, dragon dance, lion dances, food fests, and cultural programs featuring the colorful Chinese culture. Lots of Chinese Foods are offered along the Food Festival site, like dumplings, chinese noodles, and of course the main food during this time of the season: Tikoy

This year’s Chinese New Year falls on February 14, which is also the Valentine’s day. Check out the schedule below:
